Maintenance
Power loops are made of Latex. Over time, this material is susceptible to the evaporation of chemical agents that make this type of rubber elastic.
To extend the life of this product, you can follow these steps:
- Avoid storing the loops outdoors and especially in direct sunlight or strong light: Air, light sources, and UV rays accelerate latex deterioration.
- If possible, store them in an airtight bag after exercising.
- Avoid using the loops by anchoring them to components with sharp edges (e.g., some equipment racks).
- Wash only with lukewarm water. Do not use cleaning products: Degreasers, alcohols, and oils are all aggressive for this material.
- After washing and always before use, sprinkle the elastic with talcum powder. Talcum powder greatly reduces deterioration and facilitates use by preventing the latex from gripping hands or equipment, also providing a better feel.
- As soon as you receive the elastic and also regularly, every 2-3 months after washing with lukewarm water, you can lubricate the elastic with a silicone lubricant, such as "WD-40 silicone lubricant" (CAUTION! NOT standard WD-40, which is aggressive). This process can extend the life of the elastic and prevent the typical white film of this material.
- Do not experiment with cleaning or lubrication with products that may seem harmless: petroleum jelly, for example, is harmful to latex, as is olive oil. Likewise, Amuchina or degreasers are very harmful. Please follow the instructions above.
