The load-bearing shelf is the horizontal structural element connecting the support frames: if mounted with the ribs facing upwards, it can accommodate 4 pairs of round-head dumbbell cradles (SSMT); if mounted with the ribs facing downwards, it can accommodate the tray for storing hexagonal dumbbells (VME).
